First edition pp.xix, [1], (17)-406, 2 folding maps. A good complete unsophisticated copy. The maps are in good condition, though mis-folded and lightly foxed. The title page is stained and there is some light foxing and off-setting throughout. The binding is contemporary boards, with later plain paper spine.

The first of the many books published as a result of the British conquest of Java. The first three sections of this book comprise selections from Wilcocke's English translation of Stavorinus "Voyages to the East Indies", the fourth, an English translation of sections of Tombe's "Voyages aux Indes Orientales".With map of Java and plan of Batavia.
