First edition. 4to, pp.xix, [1], 406, 5 plates, one double page, three hand coloured. A very good copy bound in contemporary cloth, spine faded. A little light marginal foxing. Contemporary inscription on end-paper. Small tear (without loss) to half title. Folding plate detached (but present).

MacFarlane visited Turkey in 1827-28. He describes Asia Minor and Smyrna in this book as well as Constantinople itself.
