A story of big game hunting in Indonesia by the Dutch translator Johan Rhemrev (1821-1903), who was born on Java and spent almost his entire life on the island. The unusual chromolithographic illustrations depict a villa in the jungle, hunters firing on a tiger, a lone hunter shooting a wild boar, and a successful hunting party returning with its trophies. This book was printed at Leiden during the author's brief period teaching Javanese at the university in 1884, presumably as a text for his students.
