Cyril Holman-Hunt, son of the well known pre-Raphaelite artist William, left Britain to become a planter in Ceylon, India, and finally, Malaya. He published this collection "of songs and pantomimes written in spare moments for the amusement of friends" privately in a small edition. It includes his version of the pantomine Aladdin, set in the Batu Caves, and performed at the Town Hall in Kuala Lumpur in January 1911.
